Låter lite som den syftar tillbaka till "competition between institutions", vilket ju blir motsägelsefullt.

exakt min reaktion. men är det bara vi svenskar som tycker så?

Que? Den är megakonstig. Syftningen ÄR ju tillbaka till competition between institutions, inte till competition. Oavsett om det är engelska, hindu eller svenska. Typ.

vad menar ni med institutions? oftast syftar man ju på de strukturer som styr aktörers/organisationers handlande (t ex regler, normer, rutiner osv), inte aktörerna/organisationerna som sådana (det är väl mest i svenskan vi använder ordet institutioner för vissa sorters organisationer). därför blir det enligt min mening lite konstigt att prata om competition between institutions (det blir också lite konstigt att prata om att institutioner allokerar resurser). men det var kanske inte det du ville ha kommentarer på. när det gäller det rent språkliga så håller jag med om att den är lite konstigt. jag hade nog vänt på steken och börjat med att competition oftast betraktas som positivt, men inte mellan institutioner.

Rolf Höijer inleder antologin med ett kapitel om just det du tar upp, de flesta kapitel berör konkurrens mellan institutionella arrangemang i olika nationer, i mångt och mycket det vanliga globaliseringstugget...

Syftar inte "the issue" snarast på att "synsättet på (konkurrense etc) är negativt"? Jag skulle förvänta mig en bok om källorna till denna negativism.

tom, då blir du nöjd ty flera författare diskuterar just detta. på det hela taget är det nog ganska svårt att få net en hel antologitext, men första meningen är nu åtminstone ändrad till:
